About
Meet The Team

One Day Studios is a social enterprise that aims to break down educational barriers faced by young regional Australians aiming to work in the creative industries.

We provide employment pathways for young digital creatives in regional Victoria. The studio is a safe space where emerging talents can access the digital tools, knowledge and peer networks they need to reach their aspirations within the creative industries.

One Day Studios can also host work experience students! Take a look at our Work Exp + Media Mavericks page to learn more about our specialty program for participants.

FAQ

What are your hours?

You're welcome to visit during our usual staffed hours of 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday — but as we're often busy with classes and offsite work, we recommend emailing ahead to arrange a time, especially if you'd like to meet with a particular staff member, as everyone works different days.

Do you take work experience students?

Yes! If you would like to do work experience here, talk to your careers counsellor at school.

Are you able to cater for participants with disabilities?

One Day Studios is a safe and inclusive space, and we warmly welcome participants of all abilities, including those with neurological conditions. However, we're not an NDIS provider, and we may not be the best fit for individuals who require significant one-on-one support. If you're looking for disability-specific programs, we highly recommend checking out Find Your Voice or Factory Arts Warrnambool, who are well-equipped and experienced in this space.

Do you offer classes for adults?

Our primary age group is ages 15 to 25 for weekly classes. During the holidays we often run workshops and one-off classes that don't have an age cap. Keep an eye on our social media for these specialty classes. In the past we've had puppetry, cosplay, toy bashing, and life drawing!

Do you teach painting or fine art?

We're a digital media studio, so we don't offer classes in subjects like painting, pottery, or fine arts. We do have the occasional life drawing session, but these are self-led and not classes where we teach drawing.

I'm a teacher! Can my class visit you?

You sure can! Send us an email at

admin@onedaystudios.org.au

with what you'd like to accomplish in your visit and we will get back to you with a quote.

My child is interested in learning animation, do you teach this?

All our current classes are in the Our Courses section of the website. We are limited by what teachers we have as to what we can teach. This is ever-changing as we find more educators, but new classes will always be announced on social media.

We are incredibly grateful to One Day Studio for running such an engaging and impactful hands-on program tailored to support our students at Cobden Technical School. Our students participated in small groups carefully developed to support inclusion, collaboration and positive engagement. Whilst participating, we have noticed a remarkable shift in our students’ attitudes—they consistently display respectful behaviors and genuinely look forward to each session. The presenters, Gareth and Maiya,  truly stood out with their kindness, empathy and genuine connection to our students, creating a safe and inspiring environment where every student felt valued and heard. One Day Studio’s program has been a powerful catalyst for positive change, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to any school seeking to re-engage and empower their learners.

One Day Studios has been a real life saver for our son.

Our Son, Jesse, started out in the One Day Studios after-school program, which he still looks forward to every week & is still attending years later. However Gareth has become his mentor for his creative career development & indeed his growth into a confident, passionate and enthusiastic young man who truly believes he can go places with his chosen career path in the arts.

Our son has also made lifelong friends, as he's found "his people", where previously he was struggling to make social connections at school & within the local community.

Thankyou Gareth & One Day Studios for all you've done & the continuing support, guidance & encouragement you give to our son. My wife & I are truly grateful.

One Day Studios membership was a game-changer for me. I was under pressure to complete a project and needed access to a professional editing suite with Adobe Premiere Pro. One Day Studio provided exactly what I needed — not only the software and hardware, but also a supportive and welcoming environment.

The team was incredibly helpful, offering technical assistance whenever I needed it, without being intrusive. Post-production can be a lonely and expensive phase, but having access to high-end tools through my membership made it both affordable and manageable.

What really stood out was the sense of community. Being surrounded by like-minded creatives gave me the motivation and inspiration to push through and get the project over the line. I’m truly grateful for the support and resources One Day Studios provided.
